Supporting Others (Without Spending a Dime)

We all know someone who is trying to start a business. It may be Homemade Goods, Clothing, Food, or even a type of Service. Most people think that buying these items is the only way to support these people. Shopping with them is an important part, but no. One of the biggest things you can do to support a business is getting the word out. There are so many ways you can do that.

1. Like, Comment, and Share Their Post

Social Media has effected the way people see post. Most people assume the once you post something, it will appear on everyone's timeline. This is not the truth. Only a percentage of people see your post in their timeline. If these people like, comment, or share it, the post will appear in more timelines. If there isn't any engage, then not that many people will see it. Social Media platforms want you to pay to get more of an audience. Not all small business can afford to do that.

Anytime you see a post LIKE, COMMENT, and SHARE. You aren't making a commitment to buying something. You are saying, "Hey! I see you. I support you. I will help you." It can even be just an emoji. The more people that are looking at these post, the more chances of that business getting a new client.

2. Tell Your Friends About Them

"If you need a photographer, I have friend who does a great job. You should check her out." This is one way I get a lot of business. It is always great to hear someone tell me that someone else referred me. This let's me know I made someone else happy with my work. If this makes me feel good, other small business owners will feel good about it. Many business have reward systems for when you do this. (Hint. Hint. Currently working on this myself.)

3. Give Encouragement

Let them know they are doing a great job. Tell them how much you love their work. Trying to start a new business is hard. There are moments when they might question themselves. Encouragement can help them get through those hard times.

4. Leave Reviews

If you have used their services or products before, write a review. This gives other people user experiences. Many great reviews show that the business is really good at what it does. Post a picture of their work. Tag the business. Talk about how great they are. It is very simple.

Every small business is someone dreams. We all have dreams. We all should help each other achieve their dreams. By supporting them, we are helping them get one step closer to their dreams.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Eleanor Roosevelt
