Some black and white photos have a deeper impact for me than photos in color. Black and white photos show more of the feelings. In my opinion, black and white lets us see more of the emotions.
Color can distract us from what is going on. By taking away color, you can see the main subject. This doesn't mean that color is bad. Colors are great. Color is beautiful. Without color, the world would be dull. I am just saying that we can appreciate black and white as well.

I have many black and white photographs that give me more of "the feels" then the color versions. Here is a few of those photos. Each and everyone of them are near and dear to my heart. They all let you see the true subject. Some of them tell a deeper story than others.
